Carole Choucair Oueijan is a mosaic and oil artist, born in Lebanon. When she came to the United States, she converted her technique of mosaic into fine art, working on projects that reflect her heritage. Inspired by the beauty of modern art, Carole Choucair Oueijan faithfully reflected her Lebanese-Greek heritage in her art.
Recently, she was selected from a group of mosaic artists to work on a public art project on 2222 Harbor Promenade in Santa Cruz, California. Her part was to create four mosaic scenes of the story history of Santa Cruz.
She was selected because of her unique interpretation of details and 3-D effects using colorful Italian mosaics called ‘Byzantine Smalti’ mixed with natural stones such as marble and granite. These stones are used in large, uneven shapes to break the monotony of the tiny little pieces of smalti.
To see more of Carole’s work, and join her at her exhibitions, you can visit her website at www.FineArtbyCarole.com

This club is the newest addition to the club directory. The Cedar Club of Phoenix is a social, cultural and charitable club promoting the spirit of love and friendship.
The club's history goes back to August 1937. In 1946 a woman's
division was established. This club is a member of the Southern
Federation. Since then the club owned several locations where the members
would meet. In 1981 a new clubhouse "The Cedars" was constructed
at 1702 East Northern Avenue in Phoenix. This is a beautiful facility and we
hope to post a photo in the future. The building
included the beautiful Cedar’s Banquet Room used for the club’s social and
charitable events. The Cedars Banquet Room is rented for banquets, parties
and business meetings. The Cedars has become one of the most popular rental
facilities in Phoenix.
The club is a member of the Southern Federation and does not have a website at the present time. The email contact is cedarchums@cox.net.

ALNM News- American Lebanese National Movement
| ALNM project: "No
Child Should Die in the Dawn of Life" The rate of cancer among Lebanese Children is increasing at an alarming rate. It is a sad news but, you can help make a difference! "Providing the appropriate treatment to our precious children can be extremely expensive," stated Dr. Maher Younes, ALNM Director of Social Welfare Committee. "It cost about $30,000 a year to treat a single child battling this deadly disease. It is a cost that many parents in Lebanon can't take on." ALNM has teamed up with the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) in hope we can be a small part of a giant effort to treat and find cure for cancer. CCCL is a unique regional center for the comprehensive treatment of Pediatric Cancer. An affiliate of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, the center works in close association with the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). A Lebanese emigrant to the US and founder of St. Jude hospital, Danny Thomas once said "No Child should die in the dawn of life." If you wish to help or for more information, please contact. Dr. Maher Younes at mahery76@yahoo.com and/ or visit the website at www.alnm.net | |
